January is a notoriously slow month for TV and that's in large part due to the different live sporting events. If you're a long-time Bob's Burgers fan, you're familiar with this time.
Most notably, the Super Bowl is happening on February 9th on Fox. Due to that, there aren't going to be any new Bob's Burgers episodes until after that. Honestly, it's something we're mostly used to now but it makes sense why we got one last December episode.
Whether you're a sports fan or not, there is no denying how much sports is connected to the series. It might not seem like it, but the Belchers aren't afraid to try their hand at something new when it comes to sports. That's why I wanted to share some sports-related episodes of Bob's Burgers to enjoy ahead of the Super Bowl.
Before getting into the list, I have to give a special shout-out to "Easy Com-mercial, Easy Go-mercial," which was the show's "Super Bowl" episode. In the episode, the family works together to create an SB commercial and Bob hires a former player who ends up being a lot more than the family bargained for.
These 4 Bob's Burgers episodes are great for sports fans.
1. "Torpedo"
The first episode making the cut was an easy pick and that's Season 2's "Torpedo." This served as the season 2 finale and it's an utterly bonkers episode. The episode follows Bob who meets his hero Torpedo Jones and at first, things are great. Of course in true Bob's Burgers fashion, things aren't exactly what they seem. With some slightly edgier humor, this episode is one you need to revisit whether you're a baseball fan or not.
2. "Nude Beach"
The title paints a picture, but just hear me out. This episode follows Hugo, the town's health inspector and one of Bob's nemesis. While popping into the restaurant, he shares that he's going to shut down the nude beach and ends up becoming a nudist. When his replacement ends up being even worse, Bob decides to go find Hugo and convince him to come back.
The sporty element comes from the fact that there is a Nude Decathlon going on which Hugo and Bob compete in. Even though it might sound weird, it's such a fun episode and by the end, you'll be humming one of the tunes featured in the episode.
3. "The Hurt Soccer"
Moving ahead to season 8, the first episode to come to mind was "The Hurt Soccer." This episode is a great example of how fun Bob and Louise's bond can be. After not showing up for the entire soccer season, Louise makes an appearance and ends up wanting to help the team. In addition, Bob and Tina get roped into Louise's team which is a feat in itself. The best part of the episode? There's a cameo from Brendan from Home Movies, another beloved show created by Loren Bouchard.
4. "Boogie Days"
Last is an episode from season 15 and that's "Boogie Days." The episode follows Louise and Bob as they enter a boogie-boarding contest together and it ends up being an incredible moment of bonding for the two. Whether you're getting caught up on season 15 or want a more unique sports episode, then be sure to give "Boogie Days" a watch.
Bob's Burgers airs on Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
