With many successful shows ending during the last month of the Winter 2025 anime season, anime fans are already gearing up to see some of their favorites return this Spring. Many of them have been waiting for months, or even years, for these popular anime series to return, and now it's finally time to continue these stories.
While plenty of new shows are premiering this season as well, sequels are always a staple in the anime community, with them garnering as much hype and attention as the originals. With long-running fan favorites like Black Butler and Fire Force, viewers have plenty to look forward to.
Here are five of the most popular anime returning furing the Spring 2025 anime season.
Fire Force season 3
Returning for its highly anticipated third season, Fire Force is a fan favorite that hardly needs an introduction. This is the first part of a two-part final season, with part two set to premiere in 2026.
The series follows Shinra, who recently joined the Company 8 Fire Force to help fight spontaneously combusted citizens called Infernals. Season three will conclude the anime by finishing off the Stigma and Obi's Rescue Arcs.
Wind Breaker season 2
After its breakout premiere season in 2024, fans are excited to see Wind Breaker return so quickly. In season one, viewers followed Haruka Sakura as he planned to fight his way up the ladder at the toughest high school in Japan, only to find the school’s toughest gang members are nothing like he thought.
Fans suspect season two will dive deeper into the KEEL arc, which was briefly touched on during the last few episodes of season one. This is much watch for fans of action and hand-to-hand combat.
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! season 2
With its crazy name being an obvious homage to The Power Rangers, the nostalgia was strong during the first season of Go! Go! Loser Ranger! However, this series turned the premise of the '90s classic on its head when it showed how tired the villains are of getting beat up by the Rangers on TV.
With a mix of action, comedy, and even a little corruption, this series proved to be so much more than just a nod to its inspiration. It’s perfect for fans who want a twist on the classic hero genre.
Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc
For years, Black Butler was a staple amongst anime fans, but with an almost ten-year gap between seasons two and three, it felt like it might never get the ending it deserves.
However, it’s back, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Season five is set to adapt the Emerald Witch Arc with Cole and Sebastian investigating a clan of witches in Germany and the suspicious deaths surrounding them.
I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level season 2
I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level season 2 is easily one of the most anticipated returns of the Spring 2025 anime season.
In this classic Isekai, office worker Azusa finds herself reincarnated as an immortal witch in another world. When her years of training make her too powerful to be ignored, she begins engaging with numerous visitors, either seeking her help or testing their strength against her.
While Isekai anime has been feeling a bit overdone in recent years, this fresh, funny series is worth a chance.
With the Spring 2025 anime season right around the corner, deciding what to watch is always a challenge. However, with so many solid series returning for sequel seasons, finding something to keep your interest shouldn't be hard, especially if you're already invested.
