Are The Simpsons on tonight? Find out if they will be!
The Simpsons have been making fanfare with their current 36th season, now airing on Sunday's Fox Animation Domination block. So far, we were delighted to have sumptuous treats such as "Women In Shorts" and "The Yellow Lotus." The episodes prove that the beloved animated Matt Groening comedy, run by Al Jean and Matt Selman, respectively, is at the top of the TV game with its material and life-focused narratives. The Simpsons is one of Sunday's most highly-rated shows and will continue to reign the Nielsen Charts
There will the occasional breaks when repeats are shown instead of the new episodes. While annoying, networks utilize this airing format so the season can be stretched to the May finales. However, there's a brightside to the gloom. Fans have a chance to catch up on the episodes they didn't see yet on Hulu or the Fox app.
Tonight will be one of those "break times." So, here's what you need to know regarding when Fox will return with new episodes of our favorite family.
When will The Simpsons return with new episodes?
Tonight will be a broadcast repeat of the season 35 finale, "Bart's Brain" at 8 PM EST/7 PM CST on Fox. In this spirited installment, Bart befriends a jarred brain, becoming attached to it. It was an excellent way to wrap an excellent (and shortened) season.
Fortunately, we will only have to wait a week, or November 24th, until our eyes can take in a new The Simpsons adventure! And it's going to be a spooky one! It'll be the "Treehouse of Horror Presents: The Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes." Yes, I understand we're in the middle of the holiday season, and yes, it'll air four days before Thanksgiving, but if you're someone who loves Halloween, then you really can't miss this episode.
The official The Simpsons X account (Twitter), even posted a reminder for tonight's break.
We'll be giving a preview and review of the second "Treehouse of Horror" so be sure to check back for that. Until then, here's the official synopsis for it:
"THE SIMPSONS: A tattooed man at a mysterious night circus transports Lisa into three strange stories from the innocent 1950s, the chilling retro-present, and a brutalist future where prestige TV rules the world on the all-new "Treehouse Of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes."
Again, new episodes will return on November 24th.
With The Simpsons taking their break, their Animation Domination block mates, Universal Basic Guys, Bob's Burgers, and Krapopolis, will also. But you're welcome to watch the repeats that will take place in their time sequences.
