FXX to air nearly every Treehouse of Horror episode on Halloween
Get ready to spend your Halloween with The Simpsons! The basic cable channel will air nearly every "Treehouse of Horror" episode ever, as the franchise is synonymous with the spooky holiday and the series' lore. The day-long event will be filled with treats, tricks, ghouls, fools, and, yes, even Sideshow Bob—because that guy is the ultimate villain.
Before we tell you what time the marathon will air, let us tell you some brief history regarding "Treehouse of Horror." The first episode was aired in 1990 as part of its second season on FOX. The late James Earl Jones was the franchise's first guest star and provided the role of The Narrator for "The Raven" segment. Due to becoming a ratings smash, "Treehouse of Horror" was broadcast annually with new and haunting stories. It also toyed with the stricter FCC standards of the 90s as the episodes contained more violence than a standard The Simpsons episode.
Moreover, in true The Simpsons fashion, "Treehouse of Horror" reimagines pop culture and history and references these in a fun and satirical essence that's meant to be hilarious but holds that ominous truth in foreshadowing the future.
Since then, I haven't missed a single "Treehouse of Horror" and can even direct quote several when prompted. In fact, one of my favorite catch phrases was rooted from an episode and it still cracks me up several years later.
