Family Guy isn't arriving with season 23 until January 2025, an act on Fox's behalf that grinds our gears. However, it's not to say that we won't be deprived of any new Family Guy content by this year's end, as we'll be getting two Hulu exclusive holiday specials. The first one, The Family Guy Halloween Special, will arrive later this month. The drops are a part of Family Guy's 25th anniversary, and they're going to be "freakin' sweet." I'm feeling like a young kid again, as specials were essential to my holiday celebrations, and you can bet that I'll be adding the Family Guy additions to my watchlist.

Halloween has always been a significant asset to many shows, as it helps generate ratings and gives us an inside lens of how writers perceive the haunting day. In an adult animated sitcom, Halloween has no limits concerning violence, gore, and language in their narratives, but Fox does have to comply with FCC standards regarding language barriers.

No wonder Peter, Stewie, and Brian done a horse and pony show about the FCC in season 4.

With the specials airing on Hulu, they might be more liberal with violent and language content, as several productions have been in the past. Who's to say that it won't be edited to make it more family-friendly? But Family Guy does well when it's raw and uncensored, as it gives off more natural, real-time humor.

Now, as we inch closer to the Family Guy Halloween Special launch, we have all the info you need to know!

The Family Guy Halloween Special: Title, trailer, poster, and more!

Halloween isn't Halloween without the Griffins celebrating and getting into the oddest and wildest affairs, as we have seen over the years. Now, with The Family Guy Halloween Special, we can expect even weirder stuff from Peter and the gang, with the addition of Glen Powell from Twisters. It's eventful, it's frightful, and it's going to be fun.

The title

This year's Halloween installment will be titled "Peter, Peter Pumpkin Cheater," a massive indicator of the special, as there'll be a competitive pumpkin contest. The Griffin patriarch will champion his way to the top this year, even if it means taking untraditional measures. And with friends Joe, Cleveland, and Quagmire, it'll be on an extreme level.

The synopsis

Albeit that it's brief, the synopsis offers what the special's main highlight will entail, and confirms Glen Powell's appearance.

"Peter and his friends aim to unseat the reigning champion (Glen Powell) in Quahog’s annual Pumpkin Contest by any means necessary."

The trailer

Hulu dropped the one-minute trailer, compacted with the special's most important plots and horror-filled goodies. The absolute terror is not a killer teddy bear or Cleveland's ruined Yeezy sneakers but going without the internet for two seconds. It's relatable, panic-driving, and we've all been there at some point. Then we laughed at the very short loss because time made it insignificant.

For Rupert the Bear's storyline, he become obsessive and homicidal, suspecting that Stewie's outgrowing him and therefore, takes matters in his own paws. The narrative parodies the 1992 thriller, Single White Female and to me, 1988's Child's Play.

The poster

Hulu dropped the poster along with the trailer's release, giving It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and paying homage to the iconic Frankenstein. The poster is punchy and haunting, revealing Rupert's true nature and Brian's uncertainty about everything. I love how the white stars and branches attempt to tone down what's coming, but we all know things derail quickly, knowing that it's Family Guy, where the material is never too over the top for the Griffins.
