The Simpsons, like other shows, are honored to take a night off when needed, and as it's Easter Sunday, tonight is one of those nights. It's disappointing for sure, but the good news is that our favorite animated TV family will return, and soon enough!
I'm still amazed by how awesome season 36 has been at this point. We've been spoiled with "juicy" episodes that have been nothing short of incredible storylines and epic character growth. Additionally, Disney has been more than generous in dropping exclusives on Disney+, as the franchise balances its time between broadcast and streaming platforms. As a dedicated and long-term The Simpsons fan, I couldn't be more pleased.
Unfortunately, there will be no new episode tonight, but that doesn't mean that it'll be completely free of The Simpsons. But when are we ever free of them?
The Simpsons will air an encore of season 36's "Desperately Seeking Lisa" tonight

As mentioned, given that it's Easter, there will be no new episode tonight. However, FOX will encore The Simpsons season 36 episode 3, "Desperately Seeking Lisa" at 8 PM EST/7 PM CST. In this piece, Lisa heads to Capital City with her aunts, Patty and Selma, for a weekend. Almost instantly, Lisa is enthralled in the Arts Community and befriends several of its members. She soon discovers that the arts have a dark, toxic side.
The new episode skip will only be a week for the FOX Network, and fans can expect a The Simpsons refresh on Sunday, April 27th, with season 36 episode 15, "Abe League Of Their Moe." It's a baseball spoof of the 1992 film, A League of Their Own, with Bart and Grampa Simpson having a bonding moment together.
It'll air at the usual time block of 8 PM EST/7 PM CST, resuming its synchronized schedule. Hopefully, the flow won't have any more interruptions or preemptions, as it's nearing the season finale bracket. Networks tend to cluster new episodes back-to-back so that they stay popping fresh in the audience's mind.
Since it is Easter, The Simpsons has a few episodes dedicated to the holiday. If you're up for it, you can add them to your celebrations or use them in general. Besides, it's a good way to spend a Sunday and make the most of life, as the show makes it a little easier.
