5 Super Bowl episodes from The Simpsons
"Lisa the Greek"
Season 3
Lisa has a talent for picking the winning teams, which leads to her and Homer bonding over the sport. Soon, the patriarch pools in hefty cash, thanks to his daughter's premonitions. However, the newfound relationship is soon severed when Lisa discovers that Homer uses her for betting and monetary gain. It leaves the two parties unhappy, and Lisa informs her dad that if she correctly predicts the winning team on Super Bowl Sunday, she still loves him. If not, then that's that.
"Homer Loves Flanders"
Season 5
What's a better way to bond with your annoying but cheerful neighbor than a good old-fashioned football game? After years of feuding with Flanders, Homer accepts his offer to attend the Springfield Atoms game with him. The event forms a close friendship and a beautiful beginning of the Homer x Flanders angst. Yet, the two soon get annoyed with one another, and they revert to their old ways.
Well, at least it was great while it lasted.
"Bart Star"
Season 9
To combat the childhood obesity epidemic, Bart and his friends join a pee-wee football league. When Flanders quits as the coach after Homer jeers him, the latter is sworn in as the new coach. Under Flanders, the team had an undefeated winning streak, but Homer breaks it, and to make matters worse, he gives Bart special treatment as the "star" player, something that the 10-year-old didn't want. The situation heads to a rather bitter fumble between father and son, but once Homer understood Bart, they rekindle their reltionship to what it once was.
NFL Legend Joe Namath guest-starred as himself.
"Sunday, Cruddy Sunday"
Season 10
It's off to the Super Bowl when Homer scores tickets, hires a travel agent, and gathers up his friends and Bsrt for the road trip. However, the tickets turn out to be fraudulent, and everyone in the SB party is hauled to jail. If it weren't for the help of guest star Dolly Parton, then the guys would've missed the game, and all would be lost.
"Faith Off"
Season 11
After removing a bucket of glue off of Homer's head, Bart is pronounced as a "faith feeler." Many believe he can cure any disease, injury, or chronic issue just by prayer and power. We all know this practice is false, but that hasn't stopped people from doing it for centuries.
Even after Bart confesses that he is no faith healer or holds any magical powers, he tries his "talent" one more time on an injured college football star. It's improbable that the faith healing solved the star's leg, as Dr. Hibbert was behind the reconstruction process. Yet, the storyline epitomizes just how fans and players are obsessed with the game.
Plus, the game win saved Homer's life from the mafia, so the healing counts for something.
