It's The Simpsons Sunday again, and tonight (December 15th), it's another new episode of the hilarious Springfield family! We're nine episodes in, and it's Homer versus his loudmouth sisters-in-law in "Homer and Her Sisters." Whenever those three are together, chaos implodes. It's just another Simpson family dynamic.
Both of Marge's twin sisters never liked Homer but for the sake of their nieces and nephew, and Marge, Patty and Selma developed some tolerance of Homer, but it's on a very fine thread. Otherwise, they'd have zero association with him. You can't blame Patty and Selma, for Homer can be rude, loud, and selfish, but on the other side of the coin, he can also be a dedicated father and adoring husband.
But could the relationship between them be improved? There's always room for a miracle; since it's Christmas time, there's no better time for one. It'll take a special person to make this miracle happen, and in "Homer and Her Sisters," the attempt is made, and that person is the least who you'd expect.
Here's our preview of "Homer and Her Sisters."
Previewing The Simpsons "Homer And Her Sisters"
We'll be flashing back to Marge's baby shower when she was expecting her firstborn, Bart. Showers are supposed to be happy and uplifting, as you'll be introducing a new family member in life, but hile Homer is bittersweet about the preganancy, as he's shown multiple discreations over the years, nothing irks him more than his wife's sisters.
As mentioned, there's hope that things between tha family will come to resolution in some form, even if it takes an third party to do the initiation.
Per the circumstances of a fight, we just might get that reconciliation, judging by the official synopsis, which is below.
After a fight in an escape room, Krusty's truth-telling aunt fixes's relationship with Patty and Selma.
We also got a couple of sneak peeks, including the baby shower fiasco that involves cake and panic in the panic room.
UPDATE DECEMBER 15TH: We got a new sneak peek, with Krusty's Aunt Sadie giving her nephew a wake-up call on his podcast. Aunt Sadie is voiced by Susie Essman, known for her roles in Disney's Bolt and HBO'S Curb Your Enthusism.
One of the reasons why The Simpsons is so hilarious in its material is the raw and turbulent chemistry between Homer and his sisters-in-law. I doubt that the peace woven between the three will be permanent following "Homer and His Sisters," and it'll ruin some of the show's ethos. We do not mind a little drama, as every family has some, but The Simpsons thrives on the drama.
