Bob's Burgers: Who are the voice actors behind the characters?

Bob's Burgers has been around since 2011 and in that time, the show has made a lot of changes. One thing that hasn't changed is the talented group of voice actors of the Belcher family.

Of course, when doing this, I was waffled between adding Teddy as part of the main cast, and I have to say that Teddy is such a huge part of the show, so he counts. Plus, it feels like Teddy never gets as much love as he should.

With that being said, we're going to be looking at who voices the entire Belcher family, including Bob, Linda, Gene, Louise, and Tina. As mentioned, we're also including Teddy and there's a lot of ground to cover here as each of these actors have worked on some fun projects in the past. Some are even currently working on some amazing projects while working on Bob's.

The good news is that I don't see any of these actors leaving anytime soon and looking at the interviews they've all done, it's clear this group of voice actors really love and respect each other so let's break it down.

Who voices the main cast of Bob's Burgers?

H. Jon Benjamin as Bob Belcher

If there's one voice actor all of us can recognize, it's H. Jon Benjamin. Benjamin is the voice of Bob Belcher. However, that isn't the only character he voices on the show. He's also the voice of Jimmy Pesto Jr, Ms. LaBonz, the Speedo Guy and Tom Selleck along with Bad Kuchikopi and Good Kuchikopi.

As you can see, H. Jon Benjamin wears many hats at Bob's Burgers. He has also voiced Sterling Archer from Archer, Satan in Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, Coach McGuirk in Home Movies, and Ben Katz in Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. He's one of the most recognizable voices in animation so it's awesome to see him featured in so many projects.

John Roberts as Linda Belcher

Looking at the matriarch of the Belcher family, Linda Belcher is voiced by John Roberts. While it might seem odd to have a man voicing Linda, Roberts does such an excellent job. Plus it's clear he really loves the character so I'm always happy to hear whatever quip the writers have come up with for Linda to say. Roberts also voices Jocelyn, Jocelyn's mom and Akkorokamui.

If you didn't know, Roberts also voiced Xyler on Gravity Falls which is a fun fact I found out today. He is a musician when he's not voicing Linda Belcher. Given Linda's love of singing, which makes sense. You can check out his music on Spotify.

Dan Mintz as Tina Belcher

Moving onto the eldest Belcher sibling, Tina Belcher is voiced by Dan Mintz. If you didn't know, Bob's Burgers was originally going to feature two brothers and a sister. The show changed directions and went from Dan to Tina. However, Tina is one of the most honest portrayals of teenage girls out there so I adore how Dan plays her. He also does the voice of Dodomeki.

In addition to his time on Bob's Burgers, Mintz has voiced characters on Adventure Time and Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. Mintz is also a stand-up comedian, so if you're looking to laugh and can separate him from Tina, it's worth looking into.

Eugene Mirman as Gene Belcher

The Belcher's middle sibling is Gene Belcher who is voiced by Eugene Mirman. Given that their names are similar, I always get a kick out of this one. Honestly, Gene is such a fun character and part of that reason is because of Mirman's talent. In doing my research, it seems like Mirman only voices Gene which is rare but can happen.

While he only voices Gene on Bob's Burgers, Mirman keeps himself plenty busy with his other projects as he's a stand-up comedian. He has also provided his voice on shows such as Teenage Euthanasia, Apple & Onion, Archer, Home Movies, and Lucy, Daughter of the Devil.

Kristen Schaal as Louise Belcher

Rounding out the Belcher crew is Louise Belcher who is voiced by Kristen Schaal. If you've heard Kristen Schaal's voice before, you know how recognizable she is. With that being said, she provides the voice of Louise and like Eugene Mirman, stays in her lane. She voice Louise and that's it but she does an amazing job so who are we to complain?

Kristen Schaal is another cast member who is booked and busy. She appears on What We Do in the Shadows as The Guide and is the voice of Trixie from the Toy Story franchise. She has previously voiced Mabel Pines in Gravity Falls, Sarah Lynn in Bojack Horseman, and is poised to play a role in the upcoming season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Larry Murphy as Teddy

Last but not least, we couldn't forget about the honorary Belcher family member, Teddy. As the resident handyman, Teddy is a long-time patron of Bob's Burgers and is voiced by Larry Murphy. He wasn't originally a huge part of the series but eventually grew to become part of the main cast.

For the most part, Murphy has done some voice work in the past but mostly sticks to Bob's Burgers which is understandable. He voiced multiple characters on WordGirl and even lent his voice to a few episodes of Archer and Central Park. While Teddy doesn't get as much love as the other characters, Larry Murphy always does an amazing job as Teddy.
