Did you know Bob's Burgers aired a St. Patrick's Day episode?

St. Patrick's Day is a holiday the Belchers have celebrated.

When it comes to holiday episodes, no show does it better than Bob's Burgers. That's why it's so great to spotlight some of its forgotten holiday episodes, including "Flat-Top O' the Morning to Ya," which aired in season 10.

Released in 2020, it's honestly wild to think about this episode airing five years ago now, but this remains the first and only St. Patrick's Day episode of Bob's Burgers. That's going to be a conversation for another post, but today, we're here to talk about the episode.

For those who need a refresher, the episode has two storylines. The B-plot follows Teddy convincing Linda to dye different food items green for St. Patty's Day. However, things don't exactly go to plan as most customers don't want green food. While it makes sense, I can see why Linda and Teddy were so gung-ho on the entire idea.

In the main plot of the episode, Bob and the kids meet Jules at an auction. Bob is looking to get a new flat-top but, upon hearing Jules' story, decides to help him get it back. Honestly, Bob is not happy about this, and rightfully so. However, it ends up being completely bonkers, and Bob still doesn't end up getting what he wants, which is a typical episode for him.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Bob's Burgers.

As far as holiday episodes go, this one isn't exactly the best of the bunch. It's a pretty mid-tier episode, but it's hard to pull off a St. Patrick's Day episode. There's only so much you can do with the concept, and the B plot with Linda and Teddy felt like exactly what all of us had imagined, yet it was still a fun addition to the episode.

If anything, the episode proved that despite it being St. Patty's Day, Bob is really not that lucky, which is something most of us can relate to. Honestly, it's a little sad to see Bob constantly being overlooked or losing out on what he wants. Either way, "Flat-Top O' the Morning to Ya" is just another case of holiday blues for Bob.

For those wanting something other than this episode, there are some episodes in which the family is unlucky, including the show's premiere, "Human Flesh," "Hamburger Dinner Theater," and "Lobsterfest," which all aired in season 1 and set the precedent for the show. If you're feeling green, some great green episodes are "Broadcast Wagstaff School News," "Late Afternoon in the Garden of Bob and Louise," "Flu-ouise," and "Paraders of the Lost Float," including many others.

Ultimately, St. Patrick's Day is an often-neglected holiday, so it's nice to see Bob's Burgers celebrating it, if only once. Hopefully, that's something the show will remedy in the future, but only time will tell.
