The 2025 Oscars will be airing live on ABC come March 2nd at 8 PM EST/7 PM CST, and it will be one for the history books, as there are several great movies up for an award. Yet, Family Guy will not be a part of the ceremony, but that doesn't mean that the Fox animated series hasn't paid homage to some of the iconic films of the past.

For the record, former The Simpsons' writer Conan O'Brien will host this year's Oscar event. He has written "Marge vs. The Monorail" and "Homer Goes To College." He guest-starred as himself in The Simpsons 36th season premiere, "Bart's Birthday."

As it's Oscar Weekend, we're celebrating with three Family Guy episodes with movie references that were expressed through the eyes of the characters and reimagined by the writers. The episodes also made us crack a laugh as that's what they're designed to do.

What sweet pieces made the ballot? You're about to find out!

"80's Guy"

Season 20

Peter gets obsessed with the 1980s (again), so we are immersed with him and Chris recreating some sci-fi flicks from the decade. Chosen are Weird Science and Say Anything, which stirred up more trouble for the 14-year-old with the law.

What made "80's Guy" stand out was the story arc between Stewie and his arch-rival, Doug. The two boys become stuck on a jungle gym when retrieving their frisbee, and they try to impress the play grounders who's the better kid. Yet, after helping each other get down, Stewie and Doug developed a new respect.

Until next time.

"Oscars Guy"

Season 21

"Oscars Guy" has the Griffins retelling three Academy Award winners and recreated them according to their plot vision. We have American Beauty, Forest Gump, and Silence of the Lambs, that all acquired the Oscar for "Best Picture."

The best out of the group is Silence of the Lambs, as Stewie's former evil genius was unveiled, portraying Dr. Hannibal Lecter. He captured the essence of Sir Anthony Hopkins, who played the character in the 1991 original version. It's challenging to intertwine another character, especially a great one, into another, so kudos to the writers.

"Wasted Talent"

Season 2

The last one on the list is season 2's "Wasted Talent." It's a parody of the 1971 musical Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but the original Pawtucket Pat Brewery is in place instead of a candy factory. The episode follows the plot of the late Gene Wilder's version, complete with a tour, finding the Scroll, and the Oompa Loompas performing their numbers.

Although Peter gets drunk a lot, "Wasted Talent" is very much a fun and well-conceived episode that brews classic Family Guy.
