There are truly so many great episodes of American Dad. Another brainchild of Seth MacFarlane, the series is still currently airing on TBS.

For Valentine's Day though, we're headed back to the show's earlier episodes. If you've watched early episodes of American Dad, you have an idea of the dynamic between the family and especially Stan and Francine. While the two are married, they don't exactly get along all the time.

Stan doesn't seem to get the big deal about Valentine's Day but Francine gets a couple's coffin for the two so they'll be buried together. Things get even more interesting when Stan tells Francine that he's not going to be buried next to her and instead, he'll end up being a cyborg for the CIA. In an effort to appease Francine, Stan gives her some "love coupons" which she can use with him. It seems like a great idea but Stan has no interest in doing it and he ends up doing everything he can to avoid, doing something nice for Francine.

The plot thickens as Stan from the future goes back in time and explains that he's back to help train Stan so he can save the world. Francine is understandably upset but things take a turn when future Stan decides to take Stan's place.

American Dad gave us a great Valentine's Day episode in season 5.

It's clear from how quickly Francine thaws to future Stan that there's more going on than present Stan thought which results in Francine leaving Stan for future Stan. Future Stan explains the real reason he came back and frankly, it's pretty shocking. It gets even weirder when Future Stan decides to take Francine to Hersheypark and the two end up fighting throughout the park.

The best part of the episode is easily when the trio ends up at Hersheypark together. While it's not at all like how Hersheypark is, it pokes fun at it in the best way. Sometimes, imitation is the best form of flattery and that's pretty much the whole point of the episode. Future Stan is trying to undo what present Stan did but it doesn't matter as much to Francine because she still feels connected to her husband now.

While I don't want to give away what happens, it's clear American Dad decided to take a more romantic approach for this episode. The ending scene proves that but it's also fun to see how the two end up there. Plus the weird accent Cyborg Stan has is pretty interesting and gives the episode an extra layer of humor. If you're looking for humor, the B-plotline with Steve, his friends, and Roger fits the bills.

If "May the Best Stan Win" isn't your Valentine's Day match, then you might want to check out season 4's "One Little Word," which is another time where Francine doesn't get the love she deserves. Either way, American Dad gave us two amazing Valentine's Day episodes so if you're craving some Stan and Francine for Valentine's, be sure to check them out on Hulu.
