The Simpsons season 36 episode 12, "Flandshees of Innersimpson," is the latest installment, which dropped on March 30th. It's a piece that sheds light on Flanders' anger issues and his boiling over when Homer finally pushes his limits. Being a Christian (and a devout at that), you'd think Flanders would be more empathetic, but it was deep within him, and it took Bart's new loud hobby to break it to the surface.

Homer and Flanders are like oil and Holy Water, no matter how hard to you try to blend them, they always separate. In "Flandshees of Innersimpson," Flanders stops talking to Homer after Homer didn't respect his neighbor's wishes of controlling Bart's night deejaying. The silence lasts for months and Homer makes every effort to get Flanders to speak to him again.

Years of swiping Flanders' stuff and treating the good-hearted guy jauntingly led to the cut-off. Flanders had every right, and he's not wrong when it comes to separating toxic people. Yet, Homer's mind tends to be simplistic and isn't the brightest crayon in the box, and because of that, Flanders tolerates him. It was not until he read Homer's "eloquent" apology letter that he realized that his neighbor was a human with feelings and a brain. The well-intended act caused Flanders to destroy the Simpsons' possessions, or rather, his possessions, and the two men had a car fight.

Even oral therapy appointed by the court doesn't fix the problem. What does, though, is a heavy dose of psychedelic medicine that takes the guys through a journey of the subconscious. They discover what gets each other's goat, and when Flanders and Homer talk deeply about the problem, all is resolved, in their own way.

Bart Simpson's 10-minute job as a DJ in The Simpsons season 36 episode 12 "Flandshee of Innersimpson" is masterful

Finally, Bart has his moment to shine at night when he becomes a celebrity DJ. He has a craft of mixing sounds and songs together, and soon, his school peers make every night a dance party in the Simpsons' backyard. And what kid wouldn't want that?

Homer encourages his boy to spin his talent, and with a few tweaks, the kid becomes a short-lived legend. I say short-lived because after Bart fails to release a beat, it destroys the treehouse. pretty much the backyard and his DJ career.

But it was after Bart released the "Bartman" compilation of past The Simpsons tunes. Honestly, it's the best thing ever and should be released as a track. If you need any more persuasion, it has Troy McClure and Lyle Langley, which makes a glorious tribute to the late Phil Hartman.

I loved "Flandshees of Innersimpson," as it caught a profound arc of Homer and Flanders that was years in the making, but felt so good, yet sad to watch. It was a great comeback episode after a long hiatus, and we shouldn't have anything to worry about for the remainder of the season.

The Simpsons air Sundays on Fox at 8 PM EST/ 7 PM CST
