As a character, Harley Quinn was known for being Joker's better half but since then, things have changed a lot. She's become a more well-rounded and beloved character than any of us could have imagined.
While it's in large part due to Margot Robbie playing the live-action version, the people who watch the Harley Quinn animated series know just how great Harley can be. That's why it was so awesome to see Max announcing that Harley Quinn was renewed for season 5.
During San Diego Comic-Con, Screen Rant shared that the show would be released on Max in November 2024. The news was shared by none other than Kaley Cuoco, the voice of Quinn. Since we're now getting to the end of November, fans are questioning what's going on with Harley Quinn season 5.
At this point, there is no news on whether Harley Quinn season 5 will be released in December or if it has been pushed back to 2025. Max and DC have been both silent on the matter and since the Max releases for December haven't been shared yet, we truly have no idea when or if season 5 of Harley Quinn has been shelved or not.
Is season 5 of Harley Quinn being pushed back for another show?
While DC has had some success with its animated shows, Harley Quinn has taken up the mantle in recent years. The show has great characters, incredible writing, and plenty of cameos from popular DC heroes and villains. Plus it even spawned a spinoff: Kite Man: Hell Yeah!
With all the love Harley Quinn is getting, it could make sense for DC to delay it a bit due to the release of Creature Commandos. Releasing December 5th on Max, this animated series was created and written by James Gunn. Given Gunn's role at DC, I can see why Harley Quinn would get pushed back for this series.
As exciting as Creature Commandos is, most of us have been waiting to see the new chapter in Harley and Ivy's relationship, Harley's personal journey, and the fate of some incredibly beloved characters from the series. There are so many lingering questions and details fans are dying to know, as we have no idea if the show will be renewed for season 6.
Ultimately, the decision is up to DC and Max on when season 5 of the series will be released. Until then, you can always do a rewatch of seasons 1-4 of Harley Quinn or even, watch Kite Man: Hell Yeah! which isn't as good but is still a fun watch.
