Why we need a Bob's Burgers New Year's Eve special

It's time for us to see how the Belchers celebrate New Year's Eve.

BOB'S BURGERS: While the Belchers attend the closing night of their bankrupt drive-in movie theater, Bob reminisces about meeting his childhood crush Ramona and devises a plan to save it. Linda accidentally insults a PTA mom, and Gene and Louise steal some of Tina’s candy on the all-new "Saving Favorite Drive-In" episode of BOB'S BURGERS airing Sunday, Oct 6 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. When it comes to holiday specials, no one does it better than Bob's Burgers. The series has celebrated a ton of different holidays during its 15 seasons.

While the show focuses on the major holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, it doesn't show as much love to other holidays. One of those is definitely New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Given how popular the show's holiday episodes are, this is incredibly surprising. However, the main reason is that the show is usually on hiatus until January. For 2024 though, the series last aired an episode on December 29th so Bob's Burgers could have snuck in a New Year's episode.

Whether you like the show's holiday episodes or not, there is no denying the Belchers would give us an incredible New Year's Eve episode if given the chance.

There are plenty of great New Year's Eve ideas for Bob's Burgers.

Starting things off, we have to talk about the "Burger of the Day," as I feel like Bob would have a lot of fun coming up with some unique combinations. The "Burger of the Day" specials are something fans always notice and appreciate when watching an episode. Some of the options could include the "Lettuce Celebrate" burger which comes lettuce-wrapped or the "Happy Chew Year," which comes with pickles, cheese, and bacon for that great chew factor. Ultimately, the show could come up with something much better but those are some ideas.

As for the storyline, there are a few different ideas the writers could run with. They could make it a longer episode with it being a holiday special. That's something we've seen with Family Guy this year which worked out well. Starting things off, the episode could focus on the Belchers hosting a New Year's Eve bash at the restaurant in which Bob tries to make everything happen before midnight but everyone keeps showing up early or taking it focus away from what he's doing.

While having an NYE party at the restaurant would be fun, it would also be awesome to see Bob and Linda go out for New Year's while Teddy stays with the kids as their babysitter. We haven't seen Teddy watch the kids much so that would be a fun dynamic at play. Honestly, there is no shortage of great ideas that the show could implement and give us even more holiday content from Bob's Burgers.

Ultimately, it would be fun to see the Belchers all dressed up and having some time to enjoy themselves which is a rarity. Since we haven't gotten a NYE episode of Bob's Burgers just yet, who knows if we'll ever get one? Then again, never say never as there have been episodes focused on Easter and St. Patrick's Day.
