Fox's Animation Domination lineup features some incredible shows including the long-running The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers. While their timeslots might have changed in time, the core of the two shows are still there.
In particular, Bob's Burgers has gone from being a slightly quirky and edgy series to being a more family-focused and wholesome show. Despite the series losing some of its edges, it's still an incredibly popular pick for animation fans.
Looking back at the past few seasons, the show has changed a lot in terms of its writing and storylines especially when it comes to characters. While it might not seem like at first glance, the show has changed and evolved quite a bit since the release of the Bob's Burgers Movie.
With 2025 just beginning, it's time to look forward and talk about all the hopes we have for the series and what might be next for the Belchers.
These 5 hopes will keep Bob's Burgers fresh for longer.
Since season 15 has already aired 10 episodes, there are some hopes based on what we've gotten so far and what will be coming soon whether it be in season 15 or possibly season 16. At this point, the series hasn't been renewed for season 16 but you can always come back as we're going to be sharing the news as soon as Fox announces it.
1. More realistic character moments
Season 15 of Bob's Burgers has given me a lot to think about and one thing I've been enjoying so far is how the characters are being portrayed. While the family is clearly struggling, they sort of fell into a normal and slightly boring pattern. Thankfully, the series is doing the work and showing the kids acting their age. It's refreshing and something I hope the show carries into the new year.
The prime example is from "They Slug Horses, Don't They?" in which Louise and Tina got into an argument and Louise was a brat. For the most part, the show plays off how she acts but it was nice to see Tina stand up for herself and fight back against Louise's attitude.
2. More episodes focused on side characters
There is one thing Bob's Burgers has excelled at in 2023 and 2024 which is giving us more nuanced portrayals of side characters. An obvious example is "The Amazing Rudy," in which we get a look at Rudy's life and how he's dealing with his parents being divorced and trying to keep the peace between them. Additionally, "Hope N' Mic Night" gave us a more in-depth look at Marshmallow and her character.
Going into 2025, I hope the series decides to take more risks when it comes to focusing on side characters. Those two examples proved how much fans enjoy it and how sometimes the reward is worth that little bit of risk.
3. The 300th episode is an ode to Bob and Linda
In 2025, Bob's Burgers will air its 300th episode. It's taken the series a long time to get to this points and it's incredibly exciting. The most infamous milestone episode is season 6's "Glued, Where's My Bob?" in which we saw Bob take up a majority of the plot. However going into the show's 300th episode, I want to see the show share the love and give us an episode focusing on Bob and Linda, making it work.
Loren Bouchard has teased that it will focus on the restaurant's opening and how things were for Bob and Linda. Honestly, it's just nice to get a glimpse into their relationship as the show mostly focuses on the kids. While it's not a bad thing, it's nice to know a bit of history.
4. Bob's Burgers goes on the road
In the past, we've watched as the Belchers tried and failed to run a food truck. However, I'd like to see the series bring it back. Food trucks have become so popular and there are so many different ways the series can tackle this. Whether it's having a food truck night on the Wharf or Bob trying it out to make some extra money, taking the show on the road could be exactly the refresher the series needs.
5. The series ventures into the food world
One thing I've always wondered about the show is why Fox didn't venture into the food game. Bob's Burgers is such a popular property so why not try to give us something different? That's why I'd love to see Fox give us something food-related from Bob's Burgers. Whether it's a burger sauce or a collaboration with an existing brand, it would be awesome to see Bob's Burgers move into the food world even if it's only for a limited time.
Bob's Burgers airs on Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
