At the end of the year, it's time to look back and think about some of the shows and movies we loved in 2024. Looking back, there was one animated show that stood out which was Kite Man: Hell Yeah!

If you're a fan of DC's animated lineup, you're likely familiar with Kite Man. For my Harley Quinn watchers, you'll remember that Kite Man was originally with Poison Ivy before the two ended things so she could be with Harley. Given that Kite Man got dealt a crappy hand, he ended up changing the tides in his new series.

Kite Man: Hell Yeah! is Kite Man's second chance at not only being a hero but also finding love which is incredibly cool. The show was released in July and generally got great reviews, making it a solid spinoff from the Harley Quinn animated series. Given how popular the Harley Quinn series is, this was great news.

While it's unclear if Kite Man: Hell Yeah! is renewed for season 2, we can't help but look back and appreciate its impact on 2024.

Kite Man: Hell Yeah! was more than just a spinoff in 2024.

For those who watched Harley Quinn, you likely didn't have the best impression of Kite Man. He was generally seen as more of a hindrance and a general screw-up versus other villains. At first, it seems like Kite Man: Hell Yeah! is going to take the same tone. However, by the end of the first episode, the larger plot completely throws that idea to the wayside.

Throughout the series, we learn more about Kite Man, his backstory, and why he acts the way he does which is surprisingly sad. Ultimately, Kite Man wants to be loved and appreciated for who he is and that's exactly what he gets. Before getting into the romance, the series features a great friendship group between all of the villains such as Bane, Malice, Noonan, Joe and Moe, and the Queen of Fables. Seeing these characters work together is just so entertaining and gives a fun dynamic for the writers to play with.

Since I mentioned the romance, the romance between Kite Man and Golden Glider is adorable. It's clear these two are meant to be. They have so much love and respect for each other which is refreshing to see. While this duo might not be as much love as other DC couples, don't count them out as they work together beautifully. There is something so adorable about the two being in love both as normal people and as heroes.

In addition to the romance, Kite Man: Hell Yeah! has an overarching plot that will have you hooked until the very last scene. Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger so we can only hope we get some news in 2025 about the show being renewed. Until then, now is the best time to rewatch Kite Man: Hell Yeah! before the new year is here.

Season 1 of Kite Man: Hell Yeah is currently streaming on Max.
