Every Simpson character is slimming down in the latest The Simpsons episode.

When a new craze comes to town, every Springfield resident and nearly their mother wants in on it. Enter Othinquic, the drug that magically drops the weight on The Simpsons season 36 episode 13, "The Last Man Expanding," which aired on April 6th.

If you have been keeping up with the health and medical news, weight loss drugs, such as Ozempic, have aided in combating type 2 diabetes and obesity. They do work but are anchored with side effects, including appetite loss, loose skin, and gastrointestinal problems. Oftentimes, the side effects are more prominent than the desired results. The Simpsons focused on the effects' impact in a rather scary yet humourous fashion.

In a rare situation, Homer was the only smart one in the episode. Sure, it's okay to lose weight for the right reasons, but when it takes a toll on mental health and drastically changes physical appearance, then it becomes an addiction.

Homer keeps his figure in The Simpsons season 36 episode 13 "The Last Man Expanding"

It only takes one person to kickstart a trend, and it was Barney, of all people. He walks into Moe's a thinner man, as he has been taking Othinquic to manage his hyperglycemia. Soon enough, the town takes notice, and everyone, including Mr. Burns, gets their hands on the miracle drug.

Homer decides that he doesn't need Othinquic, as he likes how he is, even though he might not be attractive and his health will deter, Yet, Marge worries about if they will have a future together. and she tells him to take the weekly injections. She's only thinking about his health, but once she's see the negative and unhappy effects of Othinquic through a hallucination, she changes her mind.

Here's when the narrative gets strange: When everyone loses too much weight, not only are they not happy, but their faces resemble bulldogs. Hey, bulldogs are cute, but that's the best description for the time being.

As Homer is the last overweight man in Springfield, Fat Tony, the Mayor, Patty and Selma, and basically everyone, wants his fat to fill in their faces. There's a much simpler solution to that problem: Lay off the drug and the body will go into reversal.

Marge attempts to save her husband, but it's futile. Yet, it's Luigi from the pizzeria who assists in the rescuing. He provides enough distraction so Homer can break free from the mob. The mob still wants a piece of him (and they got it), and the Simpson patriarch reminds them how food is glorious. The speech convinces everyone to stop taking Othinquic, and slowly but surely, the weight returns.

"The Last Man Expanding" was another gem, but the only issue I have with the episode is that Marge gives into her morals to take Othinquic to fit into her black dress from pre-pregnancy. As I stated in the preview, Marge doesn't need to diet, but sometimes, you can't fight temptation.

The Simpsons airs Sundays on FOX AT 8 PM EST/7 PM CST
