Why Sunday nights are not the same without Bob's Burgers

We miss the Belchers during our Sunday night routine.
BOB'S BURGERS: While the Belchers attend the closing night of their bankrupt drive-in movie theater, Bob reminisces about meeting his childhood crush Ramona and devises a plan to save it. Linda accidentally insults a PTA mom, and Gene and Louise steal some of Tina’s candy on the all-new "Saving Favorite Drive-In" episode of BOB'S BURGERS airing Sunday, Oct 6 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Bob's Burgers is currently taking a break from flipping burgers on Sunday nights, and Fox has yet to announce when the Belcher family will return to continue the last leg of season 15. We last saw the Belchers at Christmas 2024, when Bob and Linda took the kids out to see the Christmas lights. After finding a lost puppy and returning her to her humans, the Belchers are rewarded, and Bob and Linda are able to buy the expensive present that their children wanted.

With Family Guy currently airing and The Simpsons returning on March 30th with their season 36 continuation, these two families will soon dominate Sunday nights again. However, while I'm thrilled to see Homer and Peter fight to see who'll be the top dude of Fox's Animation Domination block, it doesn't feel right to exclude Bob Belcher from the competition. He has won the hearts of many fans, and his deadpan, slightly sarcastic humor on everyday life places a more relaxed perspective on how we view things.

Why Bob's Burgers balances out Sunday nights

Homer and Peter's characteristics are a blend of crude, rude, and often obnoxious, as they fall into countless shenanigans and create a mess for their wives to clean up. On the other hand, Bob Belcher offers a calmer sense of humor to the group, as if he's attempting to balance out the chaos. He additionally tries to stay out of shenanigans, despite the ones that his his kids and Linda pull him into.

Bob gets involve with his family's hijinks because he loves them, even though it might not be his cup of tea or thinks that it might be stupid. Because of ho reasoning, that makes Bob a great family man and overall good guy.

I'm not saying that Bob hasn't had his share of fun, as he did on several occasions. For instance, he and Gene went on a mission to find black garlic in the deep forests to create an exotic burger. Then, he attended his and Linda's high school reunion, where he was the most popular alum due to a hideous pimple. And let's not forget that Bob always has beef with his rival, Jimmy Pesto, owner of the Italian restaurant across the street. The two guys in the chef business can't agree, but the animosity makes some pretty funny situations.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy my Sunday nights with The Simpsons and Family Guy. But I promise you that my nights will be more enjoyable once Bob's Burgers returns to the Animation Domination block on Fox.

You can stream Bob's Burgers on Hulu.
